What A Begining For A Month Long Holiday

Sorry for the lack of blogging, I just could not find time to blog. I was either too busy enjoying the last week of school or planning for the holidays. Which is now Holidays, holidays. Seem cheerful? Well this time's totally different. no one would have ever expected this on the 1st day of their holidays.

A schoolmate of mine, Kwak Min, was murdered on the night of the last day of school. Which is exactly last week. I apologise again for the lack of blogging. Back to the main thing, Kwak Min's murder was estimated around 9pm, 25th July to 10am, 26th July. There are still questions going around about how, who and why his murder happened.

The whole school is very very sorry for his loss. Kwak Min was a really cheerful person, he had a big passion for football and he was a great player. Even though I was not that close to him, I still respect and appreciate what he has done for my fellow friends. He is also a student who is above average in his studies. I salute you, Ken Kwak Min.

  • School Final Year Examinations 2

Today is the last day of Year 9's final year examinations. We had 2 Malay and Geography papers yesterday. I am sure that the Malaysians will find the Malay papers easy, I doubt the Indonesians will have much problems either. I did not find any trouble sitting and completing the Malay papers. I feel sorry for any Malaysian who cannot get an A for these papers. The Cambridge standard of Malay is much lower compared to the Malaysian's standard of Malay.

The Geography papers were not long. But they sure were tough. Geography paper one consisted of four questions, with plenty of sub questions. That is why we took quite a long time to finish. I took an entire one hour to finish those four questions. Tough much? The second paper only consisted of two questions but each question was two pages long. Can imagine how long each questions is? Again, I finished the paper in the nick of time. I wrote the answers two pages long in the test pads given.

We had ICT today. ICT is the only subject that consists of one paper, one hour long. I feel that this is my weakest subject other than English as I was never exposed to this subject before back in my previous school. The Malaysian syllabus does not include ICT in it. Oh well I finished the ICT paper at the last minute, again. I shall not look at the negative side of things. The bright side is, the examinations are finally over I do not have to home study again for the rest of the term  Goodbye examinations!
  • School Final Year Examinations 1

Today is the second day of the international stream's final year examinations. Year 9 had two Mathematics and Science papers yesterday. They were not that tough in my opinion, compared to today's papers that is. We are having Mrs Ignatius and Mr Alvin as our individualists throughout the whole examinations which are three and a half days long

Today, we had two English and History papers. To my surprise, English paper one was not as difficult as I thought it would be. It was absolutely easier than Cambridge Checkpoint's paper one. Thanks Mr Raj English paper two on the other hand, was still easier than Cambridge Checkpoint's paper two but it was still challenging none or less. Again, thanks Mr Raj

Now, history papers. History paper one consisted of only nine questions, yet I took up two pages of the test pad. I am sure our future historian, Bryan Janier, took up at least three pages. Go figure. Back to the papers. Paper one was okay. Paper two was about source study. Studying the sources that we have learnt before. Again, I took up two pages on the test pad for this paper. I finished this paper at the nick of time, like I usually do during history examinations. Heh

  • Ipoh International School Annual Production Part 2

After going through the entrance, I was immediately called to go up to the balcony. On the way up, I saw Puan Zalyah and Mrs Arul. As i reached the balcony, I met up with a few my salsa dance mates. They were dressed up in their respective costumes at that time. The teachers in charge of us, Puan Wan and Mrs Ignatius, told me to quickly change into my costume as the production was going to start any moment. Because I could not find the changing room and my dance mates adviced me to, I changed my shirt right on the spot for the sake of the show to go on

The production started about 20 minutes later. We managed to snap a few pictures among ourselves during those 20 minutes. By the way, Mrs Ignatius still owes me the pictures we took. Just in case she reads this, which I doubt she would anyways. Back to the story. We just randomly took pictures with a few of our crewmates. Even Mr Elvin took a picture with the salsa boys. How cool was he?  Quite a few passer bys commented on our costume. They said that we look 'sexy'  I totally have no comment to that.

Like every performer on stage, well at least for my age, we had butterflies in our stomach right before our performances. Guess what? We did the relaxing routine I introduced to them  Almost everyone from the salsa group joined me to do it. It really does calm you down, especially just to chill someone out at a time of suspense. We performed on stage like our lives depended on it. We had a standing ovation, even before the performance started. That was what which really motivated me to do even better. After performing, I felt like the happiest person on Earth because I know that we did excellent out there.

At the end of the day, teachers and parents had very good reviews about this year's production. A lot of them said that this is the best production so far in recent years

  • Ipoh International School Annual Production Part 1

Today is the day every student in Ipoh International School has been looking for, doesn't count whether its kindergarten, juniors or seniors. The annual production is still on this very day, we are performing for our lives at Politeknik Tengku Omar. The annual school productions have been held here for the past 4 years already. I have to say, this year's production is indeed a huge success.

I was really excited for this night. I was too excited that it took away my scared emotion from me. I never had a moment of being scared of nervous throughout the day. All I could just think of was 'Production, Production, Production' I am in the Salsa dance. Yea, nobody thought that I would do that. I am sure nobody would believe me if I told them that I am going to dance. Haha.

Ok, the night has arrived. The scene there was simply spectacular. Every participant looked really ready for the big event itself. I was indeed pumped up for the event. The first few people I saw there were Abdullah, Wong Jia Jun, Joel Lai and Lee Chee Ying. That is behind the scenes of the production. Catch the production in action in my next post.

    Emergency Entry

Oh no, I am supposed to hand up Mr Raj's journal by tomorrow? I thought it is due next Thursday? I am so dead. Well at least this post can save me some marks. What should I write here? Hm...

Somehow, someway I have been making friends from different countries other than Malaysia. Who knew that making new friends from other countries can be that fun? It is not like everyday you get to do that right? Friends introduce to other friends and the link keeps going on and on and on...

Now about school life, homework seems to dominate students' time again. Just take this post for an example. Then there are of course other homework too. Homework is one thing, production practices too. That, I am not complaining about. I am actually enjoying practices for production this time round. The thing is, I get to meet new people and also try out something new.

I guess this post should be long enough for the journal. Till then, bye.

Is Mr Wright A Right Choice?

The school plans to increase the fees and they also mentioned something about bringing in better teachers. Mr Elvin (I am not too sure how to spell his name, correct me if I am wrong, ok?), the Philippino coach is not bad. Even though he has the typical Philippino accent and way of speaking, I feel he is a good coach. His training sessions can be tough but they look professional.

Well, to the academic side of school. Mr Arull is confirmed leaving the school. How sad right? But good things must always come to an end. If he is happy, then we should all be happy for him too right? Well, that is one geography teacher down. Guess who is his substitute? Mr Bryan Wright. Hmm... How should I describe him? Big sized, almost 6 feet tall, has white hair... Scary? Wait until you see him in class. He will definitely scare the pants out of you. I can bet on that.

I really, really hope that God, please have mercy on us poor souls Of all human beings, why choose Mr Bryan Wright? How could this happen to us???

Start of A New Week, Start of New Things To Come

Well I shall continue blogging again after a week or so absence. Since Mr. Raj pointed that out during English class today. Mr Raj taught us about arguments today. The video he showed us today was seriously hilarious. If only the rest of you who did not watch could watch it. Oh looks like my classmate Jonathan went for a family and a few friends trip to New Zealand for two weeks. Jono, if you are seeing this, you better remember to get me chocolates like you promised to!

Anyways, back to school life. School has been quite insane for me especially since teachers have started to bombard me with uncountable amount of homework. I do not even know where to start listing them I might as well not list them here. It will take me too long time to think of where to start from. Starting this week, we are having assessments too. Just today itself we had three assessments. ICT, Mathematics and Chemistry Oh well...

And I finally finished watching the entire season 1 of La Corda D'oro Primo Passo I even watched the bonus 26th episode It is a really interesting anime and also inspiring to me. Well you guys should check it out sometime. I am not a huge anime fan but this has got to be my favourite anime so far

    Homework Crisis

Oh no, I still have not finished the protest sculpture assignment given by Mr. Raj! To make things worse, my class has to hand up that assignment tomorrow. How now? I am pretty sure that my group mates did not do a single thing. I guess I have to do everything, again. If only Mr. Raj allowed us to choose our own group members. That will definitely make things much easier.

Lets see... I have yet to complete my physics assignment too. That assignment is due on Friday but everybody knows how time can fly right? At least we got to choose our group members for this assignment but I doubt anybody takes physics seriously. And I have heard people saying that they are going to take up physics next year in Year 10. At this standard and mentality, how are they going to make it easily? Makes me wonder...

Then there is geography too. At least Mr. Arul is a nicer person than our physics teacher, Mr. Dominic. Anyways we are assigned to present about the country that looks like a leg, Italy No offence to any Italians out there yea. We also got to choose our own group members for this assignment. Sounds easy? Think again. None of us are from Italy, so we have to trouble ourselves to find information about that nation. From its introduction, to its history and of course its geographical features too.

Well thats my homework crisis. If only the school could somehow reduce the amount of homework. Besides, the words 'home' and 'work' should never go together and they do not look good together anyways. Oh by the way, this post is also a homework for Mr. Raj's journal.

Today was quite fun I suppose. Got to watch Narnia: Prince Caspian with a whole bunch of people. At least 10 of us went there. Guess who have love in the air now huh? I don't want to say it here. Its up to you to find out for yourselves.

Hm... I have been feeling really lazy nowadays. Maybe its because the examinations are over. I seem to lose track of almost anything and I cannot seem to find my way back on track. Maybe I have been thinking about the past too much. But you cannot blame me on that, because I have been seeing a lot of stuff from the past these few days. Maybe they have drawn me back into a time where... I don't know. Its just...

Sometimes I really wish time can go back. Sometimes, I hope that I can just stick into a time where there are no problems at all and people would just live happily ever after. Life is not bad now, but I do prefer it when it was in the past. Just think about it, the more time passes, the more things you will see in life which you wish you do not want to see at all. Right or not?

The bottom line is, I miss old times. There, I've said it.
